in the area of building energy simulation and indoor environmental quality
at the University of Alabama. The details of the position is as below.

*Title: A Funded PhD Position in Building Science at the University of
Alabama*



This position is a fully-funded PhD opportunity at the Dept. of Civil,
Construction, and Environmental Engineering, the University of Alabama. The
PhD research will specifically focus on the measurement of energy and
indoor environmental conditions, simulation methods, design studies, and
human factors for improving the building energy efficiency and indoor
environmental quality. The selected candidate will be expected to work
towards these goals and a PhD degree.



*Preferred Qualification*:

- BS/MS degree in Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Physics, or
equivalent relevant education/experience.

- Knowledge of building HVAC systems.

- Experience in developing and applying building energy analysis methods
(e.g., OpenStudio, EnergyPlus, DOE-2, eQUEST).

- Experience with computer programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) for
model development and data analysis.
