Colleagues, please spread the word about this opportunity:

Job opening:
Assistant Professor, Interior Architecture Department

The Interior Architecture Department at the University of Oregon is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor position in design and fabrication to begin Fall 2019. Candidates should have the potential to make a strong contribution to the technical and/or furniture design curriculum and to use design/research to engage transformative questions in interior architecture, possibly but not necessarily related to biology, ecology, health, culture, material ecology, or socially driven design within a framework of theoretical, historical, or technological study of interior space and elements. We especially encourage applications from designers, scholars and design researchers who will use technology (i.e. computational design, digital fabrication, simulation, prototyping, design-build, robotics) and/or other critical design processes to drive a rigorous and innovative design/research program.

Candidates are expected to develop and teach innovative design studios, required courses that integrate design with technical knowledge, and topical seminars that are enriched by the candidate's area of design/research. Our unique curriculum will allow successful candidates to teach both graduate (MIarch) and undergraduate (BIarch) students at many levels of experience and to integrate a rich array of topical problems, methods and projects related to their own expertise. Candidates with requisite fabrication experience may expect to lead students in design-build and/or furniture design.

Deadline: Applications need to be received Nov. 1, 2018 to receive full consideration.
